A Series of Unfortunate Events - Paris Edition

Photographic proof she was really here!

This weekend, Maya came to visit from Spain, where she's studying abroad in Sevilla. (You can read about it at her blog here!) She got in on Thursday night and then we spent the whole day Friday sight-seeing and just walking the Champs-Elysées. We hit some of the most iconic and touristy spots, including the Eiffel Tower, as you can see above, and the Arc de Triomphe, and everything was going great. But then she woke up Saturday morning and was very sick...

It was really unfortunate. No need to go into details, but after a nice dinner out on Friday night with another friend of ours from Tufts, Saturday was about as drastic a change as you can imagine. We spent almost the whole day in the hotel where she was staying (which, luckily, was very nice and comfortable), save for a 20 minute walk around the block just to get her some fresh air.

Sunday morning she felt better, and since her flight wasn't until 5:30 that afternoon, we took advantage of the little time that was left and went to the Louvre. We only spent a little over an hour there, but I'm glad we got to get something cultural in before she had to head back to Sevilla.

It was great to have her visit since it was the first time we'd seen each other since the end of last semester at Tufts, but I just felt bad that she had to be confined to a hotel room for half of her already short stay here. The only upside, though, is that now she'll probably come back at some point so we can do the real Paris excursion!
